Watch: The SOLE Difference

What sets SOLE footbeds apart from other insoles?

/ Posted on

Shopping for supportive insoles can be a bit overwhelming. There are SO many options out there, but how do you know which to choose? In this video we discuss what sets SOLE footbeds apart from other insole brands you might find on the shelf of your favorite footwear store, or online.

Insoles for any arch height

Firstly SOLE footbeds are all suitable for any arch height. This allows you to choose your footbed according to which one will work best in your shoe, rather than which works best for your specific arch height, which you might not be totally sure about.

Insoles without a rigid shank

Next, SOLE footbeds are made from one continuous piece of material in the base. Most of our competitors use a separate piece of plastic or other material to create a rigid shank which gives their insoles support.

Instead, we use a patented density-mapped construction, which means that the material in the footbed base is more dense in some areas, and less dense in others. This makes the footbed more rigid where you need the most sturdy support, and less rigid where you need more natural flex.

The result is that our footbeds provide a dynamic arch support that flexes with your foot’s natural movement as you take each step.

Now that doesn’t mean less effective support!

Clinical studies have shown SOLE footbeds to reduce strain more than our closest competitors, while interfering the least with your foot’s natural movement. That reduction in strain makes SOLE footbeds the gold standard in pain reduction and dealing with ailments like plantar fasciitis.

SOLE footbeds are custom moldable

Part of our success is due to the fact that our footbeds are custom moldable. When the footbed has molded to your foot, you have what you can think of as a second skin that stays in constant even contact with the bottom of your foot. This helps distribute pressure evenly and prevent pressure points or hot spots on the bottom of your feet.

Our footbeds use open-cell Softec cushioning

On top of the moldable density mapped base we use an open-cell foam known as Softec. This foam continues to rebound for longer than commonly used closed-cell foams, offering superior cushioning and durability.

SOLE footbeds come with carbon impact labels

Lastly you’ll notice that all SOLE footbeds come with a climate impact label that shows the amount of greenhouse gasses produced in the footbeds’ entire lifecycle.

It’s important to note that our Performance footbeds are carbon negative, meaning they actually remove greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere.
